Do you have an idea of which area of Yorkshire you think Peter might originate from?  There is nothing showing on the West Yorkshire records currently available on-line.

and an online tree suggests they were John Hoggard and Janie Bensone.

Online trees are often wrong but it's worth following up. Did he marry Eleanor Frances and died in 1680 in Virginia.
