Edmund Taylor
« on: Tuesday 15 July 14 12:03 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I am looking for an Edmund Taylor.

I have found 2 United States Social Security Death Index records which could be the Edmund Taylor I am looking for, but would like to know if it is possible to find out more about him from the social security number on these records.

The Edmund I am interested in was born in England c1902/03, he is adopted so I don't know his birth name/details.

Here are the 2 records: (from IGI)
1. Given Name:    Edmund
Surname:    Taylor
Birth Date:    2 August 1902
Social Security Number:    159-09-1298
State:    Pennsylvania
Last Place of Residence:    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Previous Residence Postal Code:    19144
Event Date:    August 1969
Age:    67

2.Given Name:    Edmund
Surname:    Taylor
Birth Date:    26 September 1902
Social Security Number:    709-09-8822
State:    Railroad Board
Last Place of Residence:    Bear, New Castle, Delaware
Previous Residence Postal Code:    19701
Event Date:    May 1968
Age:    66

Both of these are about the right age and in a possible/logical location.
Is it possible to find if either of these Edmunds are born in England?
If not born in England, that would easily eliminate one or the other or both.

I don't have a US census record for him in either 1930 or 1940 (but have spent hours trawling through 'Edmund's (and variations thereon) and 'Taylor's (and variations thereon), so am not asking for that look up.
I know that he went to the US and when, so I am not looking for that.
I know he was alive in the late 1950s and living (allegedly) in Philadelphia.

I'd like to find out addresses related to the above records and his wife's name and children (if possibly still alive please send me a PM).
He is supposed to have had 5 children.

Hoping the Social Security Death Index records will provide a new angle to solving the mystery for me,
thanks for any help,

Lisa

If you had the exact birth date for Edmund it would be a great help in tracking him down.

Also, if you have a passenger list for him, it might give further clues.

Sandra

thanks Sandra for the grave links, so I can eliminate both of those Edmunds from my possibles.

This is  (one of) the problem(s), I don't have his exact birth date (or birth name),

thanks for your help, I was hoping that starting from the end, as it were, might offer another approach,

Lisa

Here's a third possible Edmond Taylor (from IGI)

Given Name:    Edmond
Surname:    Taylor
Birth Date:    27 March 1903
Social Security Number:    166-03-8873
State:    Pennsylvania
Last Place of Residence:    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Previous Residence Postal Code:    19134
Event Date:    July 1978
Age:    75

I have looked on findagrave (and didn't find this one).

Again if this Edmond is not born in England, then that would rule him out.

thanks for any help,
Lisa

Looked for him yesterday and couldn't see anything on him. Sometimes the SSDI would give born ........ Other Country but it doesn't say that.
Looks like he lived somewhere else before 1 Jan 1997  - Residence Date 01 Jan 1997-01 Jan 2004

Anc Family tree says Edmund Ernest Taylor - 27/3/1903 Nelson Lancashire  and died 19/7/1978
Married to  Ethel Helen Ritzheimer. The 1940 census they link to (with a wife and 2 daughters)  - has him born 1903 Pennsylvania.
So doesn't make sense.  ???
