Dowling of Boston, Mass
« on: Monday 21 July 14 13:26 BST (UK) »
I have two brothers John S b. 1890  & James J  b. 1893.  I have followed them down to 1940.  They lived in Boston, Mass.    Their sister Mary C  b. 1889, became a Sister of St. Joseph & I have her to 1940 also.  Margaret A V  b. 1894  I cannot find after 1920.
Their parents were Michael  Dowling d. 1901 & Catherine Burchill  d. 1894 in childbirth.   The children lived with aunt Catherine Powers into adulthood.
Help to get past 1940 would be appreciated.

If those are the correct ones, then here are WWII draft registration cards from 1942 for James & John:

There is a family tree that says Margaret married David L. Keefer in 1921.  The 1930 census has a possible match for her living with aunt Katherine Powers and uncle James Dowling:  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XQRW-H4H

This looks like Margaret on the Social Security death index:  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JPQ7-HP2

Thank you for that.   I looked at the family trees.  Not very much there.   Do you know why some people do not appear on the SSDI.  I would have thought that everyone showed up there.

No, everyone doesn't show up on there unfortunately.  It mainly covers deaths from the early 1960's to the present.  Also, if the person never got a Social Security number or their death was never reported to Social Security, they would not be on there.
