Ebeneezer M. Cord (Feb 22 1806 to May 12 1888)
« on: Tuesday 22 July 14 17:42 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I've had some good luck on here with some other questions I've put forth.

Here's another.

I have an ancestor that isn't so far back: Ebeneezer M. Cord (1806-1888). Born in New Jersey. Died in Easton, PA.

He married Anna Marie Leidich (Leidig). (1812-1879)

I haven't been able to find anything about Ebeenezer prior to to 1830 though. I do know that his father was from Pennsylvania and his mother from New Jersey according to an 1880 census.

I know nothing else.

It just recently dawned on me that the surname might have originally been McCord. And, that seems to fit as McCord's have a renowned place in early American history and there were a couple serving in the revolution, etc.

I did a search on Easton and McCord on google and it revealed the following attachment. If my theory holds true (that M. Cord = McCord), then perhaps the Joseph McCord and Sarah McCord mentioned here might be somehow related my Ebeneezer?

Problem is -- I'm not able to find anything further than this snippet and nothing else connecting these people.

Does anyone happen to have any other ideas on how to approach this?

Thanks for your consideration!
