James Thomas Greenshields and Fountainhall School
« on: Saturday 23 March 13 18:02 GMT (UK) »
James Thomas Greenshields (1863-1925) was the schoolmaster at Fountainhall School at his death in 1925.  He may have begun his tenure there soon after his return from South Africa in 1917.  Can anyone point me to records or provide information about him, his career, and his family (wife Janet Fowler) and children Margaret, Gavin, and Janet?  James is apparently buried in the area.

Have you seen this?

It's not clear from your message what exactly  you already know (so we might avoid spending good time on looking for what you already have):  for eg.  did you know the children, according to the above were:
 Margaret Moffat Fowler GREENSHIELDS b  1893, Kilbucho, m 1925, d 1930
 Gavin James GREENSHIELDS b:1895 Kilbucho, m 1823, d 1947
 Janet Smith Fowler GREENSHIELDS b 1908,  Kilbucho, d 1934

Cheers

Thank you for your response.  I am really looking for local newspapers or a history of Fountainhall School or other resources that cannot be gotten easily from the Internet.  I have a good deal of the family relationships from Ancestry.com and Rootsweb and other such sources.  I assume that there must be some local history that may speak of the Greenshields family.
