Royal Scots Fusiliers Postcard
« on: Wednesday 02 April 14 11:22 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I have a postcard from Regimental Sergeant Major Ward (Great Grandfather) who served with the Royal Scots Fusiliers, with a return address of :-

RSM Ward
C.C.S. Dick Deuce, Edinburgh

I was wondering if anyone would know what C.C.S would mean? Perhaps Dick Deuce is the name of a camp? The postcard would have been sent between 1930 and 1950.
Thanks,
Neil

hi neil
could it be ccs is casualty clearing station , dick deuce someone the rsm knew hence dick deuce and not Richard or a rank first name and surname deuce  , only I,ve tried allsorts of permutations on what you,ve posted and can,t see anything to make sense till I tried looking for abbreviations of the british army ww2 and found ccs as above and there was one in Edinburgh in ww2 .
so maybe dick deuce was someone he knew on a personal level .
