David Guthrie Flora Shaw - Edinburgh

Hi

I am trying to find out information about a David Guthrie (DOB around 1817) and his wife a Flora Shaw (1824). I believe that they lived in the Edinburgh area. David was a Gardener. They married 1846 at Duddingston, Midlothian. They had 2 sons, one of the being my Great Grandfather George Guthrie who was born in Wales in 1855.

What is it you are looking to find out?
Freecen has him as born outside census county on 1841 census so likely he wasn't from Edinburgh.....J mentioned by Rosie17 is for Journeyman.
 There is a Flora Shaw on the 1841 census for South Leith which could well be your lady not with her family though ....they couple are on the census in Wales from 1851

Can anyone get me back further along the line i.e. ancestors of George and Flora? Although any other titbits about Guthrie's in Edinburgh are always welcome.

 Do you have his death certificate? is his father's name on it?

Parent's names not on the England death certificates you might get his marriage on the OPR in Scotlands People  but sometimes that does not tell you much

Nothing on the marriage record to give any clues as to parentage or place of birth. David was already in Wales and Flora still in Edinburgh.

Did Flora die in Bishopsfield  near Chester ? Probate Record for a Flora Guthrie of Charles Street Bishopsfield near Chester widow died 12th February 1893 Probate Chester 25th March to John Huges   Seedsman effects £1185.14s.3d
