suffolk reg on pub signs
« on: Friday 18 April 14 14:58 BST (UK) »
Does anyone know the history of a Suffolk Regiment badge appearing on pub signs. I have asked Greene king but they don't know, nor Sfk Reg Museum
Thanks

No particular pub, just a general query.

The following won't help your query but I notice that the crown on the badge is the Queen Elizabeth II crown that appeared on British Army badges in the 1950s, replacing badges with the crown used by her father King George VI.
Concentrating currently on:
Essex: Card, Harris, Stowell, Theobald/Tibbles & Turner.
Norfolk: Beale, Cork & Dalton.
Yorkshire: Oswald Sturdy birth/baptism c1708, Oswald where the devil are you?

Not exactly what you're looking for, but there was the Minden Rose in Newmarket Road, Bury St Edmunds:  the Suffolks were one of the "Minden" regiments.
