Gone to Canada!
« on: Sunday 02 November 14 00:39 GMT (UK) »
For anyone with a missing Lockhart or Henderson:  I just found mine!  William Lockhart & Margaret Henderson, both born about 1790, married at Paisley, on 7 Sept 1811.  The marriage record said William Lockhart was a soldier.  Years later, their son John joined the 79th Foot Regiment... while the regiment was in Canada!  How did that happen?  Obviously the family emigrated.

By sheer luck, found William Lockhart in the 1831 census at St. Philippe, Quebec, near Montreal, with a wife and six children.  Now, what's the chance of finding baptism records, at or near Paisley?  about 1790 for William Lockhart & Margaret Henderson, and 1816-17 for their daughter Ellen.  Finding those would be wonderful!
