Gee Dot,
You have done a great job.....
You certainly have put it together, with the census, etc..

Susan,
I feel what Dot has found is  correct,
I too, have tried to find deaths for Peter, most likely between 1896 and 1901.....If not, then maybe Peter abandoned Elizabeth....and he died anytime anyplace....

As far as Elizabeth coping with all her children and then finding a prospect to marry, ......she would possibly put her age down and it could be considerable.....

Do you know, that more often than not, the women lie about their  age, and funny when they get old they seem to tell the truth.... ::)

it is amazing how many of the Irish in this thread are not traceable, it makes you wonder, hey, are they getting around the system, maybe someone can answer that one... ???

Good luck, and don't be too discouraged, it makes it all worth it when you find an answer.
but   go with the census :D

regards,
Jo

Hi Susan,

Thanks for your reply. I thought you might have given up after so many years. I am Matilda Carswell and James Kay great grandson. Her grandson, my uncle, Marcel Nedelec, recently found their place of burial in Dundee. There are several members of the Carswell family buried here, also a few others (mcnamarra, Carrigan, Topien)

How are you connected to this family?

Can you possibly e-mail me at kieranferrie@hotmail.co.uk?

kind regards,

kieran
