Family certificates show that they came from Galway and settled in Manchester in little Ireland about 1870

Sarah Flanaghan married Martin Lyons  and lived in Chorlton-on-Medlock

Hi, I looked at marriages in Ireland and could not find one for Martin Lyons/Sarah Flanagan.The only one remotely near is to Sarah Morris.I then checked the BMD indexes for a marriage and found one for Martin Lyons to Emily Reid Dec 1872 in Chorlton.I checked the 1871 and 1881 censuses and the only Martin I found in Chorlton was the son of Peter & Alice b 1877.In the 1891 census I found Martin with Emily residing in Chorlton.Martin died March 1903 age 69 in Chorlton and Emily died June 1909 age 65 in Chorlton.I found 2 births for Martin;

Martin Lyons
b 15 Jan 1840 bap 20 Jan 1840
Anascragh & Killosolan parish,Galway
p.Thomas Lyons/Wenifrida Fennane

Martin Lyons
b 21 Oct 1844 bap 28 Oct 1844
Anascragh & Killosolan parish,Galway
p.Thomas Lyons/Maria Gaven

There are also about 14 births for Martin Lyons in Galway on rootsireland.ie.To look at each you need to buy credits as it is a pay per view site.If you have any other info,I will try to help more.Kim
