Timperley Hall Farm
« on: Tuesday 25 November 14 19:27 GMT (UK) »
Can any Rootschatter claim a link to Timperley Hall Farm?  The farmhouse was demolished many years ago.  The South Trafford Archaeological Group (STAG) are in the process of excavating the site having completed their excavation of the original Timperley Hall on the moated site.

They are in touch with direct relatives of the Bradbury family who were living at the farm in 1911 who have provided a description of the internal layout.  But does anyone claim descent from earlier tenants of the farm and can add knowlledge of it?

STAG has its own website South Trafford Archaeological Group and would welcome any info.

Hi if it is of any use, in 1851 the farm was occupied by Thomas 35 and Ellen 36 Carr and family, along with a Charles Pilling 63 and Alice Pilling 61, to its left was the Hare & Hounds Inn/Public House?
Census Ref HO107/2162/415/26

EDIT on the 1851 Charles Pilling was shown as a ? alias Gentleman on the 1841 he is shown with Alice and servants as Independent living at Timperley Hall

Thanks keyboard
Based on the Tithe Map for Timperley I knew the tenant of the farm then was Thomas Carr and I did find him and his family in 1841.  With a bit of inspiration I did find Charles Pilling in 1851. not found the tenants of the farm from 1861 to 1901 though.   However my main aim was to see if by chance a Rootschatter could link to the Farm with the faint possibility that they had some knowledge of its internal  layout.

if they are linked they should be able to contact STAG via its website to find out more   homepage.ntlworld.com/bryanburtonbj/
