 I just tried to join a heritage forum in Athlone but it seems to be having troubles. I sent them an email but it just bounced back.

Well I sent an email straight  to the horses mouth at athlone castle. Next I'll send one to the Catholic Church.
The local history society want 75euros to have a cursory look. Thats Aus $129.60. yeeoww

I guess i'll have  to wait a few days for a reply from the castle.

Well i just got my  reply from the castle.

I have been cursed. I just sent an email to the the local parish preist. If i get an email bounce from him I think Athlone might be tha mythical Brigadoon which sleeps for a hundred years.
