William FLAMANK (1751-1822) antecedants
« on: Friday 06 December 13 19:09 GMT (UK) »
William FLAMANK was born 1751/2 Ladock, Cornwall.  Married Jane Davey Aug 1772.  He died Mar 1822.  I am interested in his parents and grandparents.  He had 9 children.  Several were baptized at St Columb Major.  He had a son John (b 1777 or 1782 d 1857) who married Mary Andrew.  They had 10 children.  There are so many Flamanks I just can't find  William's right parents and grandparents

Henry is one of two probables.  Do you know who Henry's parents were?  Is a birth certificate or birth record for William being born to Henry in existence?

Hi again, you will not get a birth certificate,  they only came into play 1837, the record above is his baptism, what other probable have you b Ladock?

William being born in Ladock is from a public family tree on ancestry.com.  I really have no proof where he was born. Two trees on Ancestry one had Williams father as a William and the other as a Henry.

William was christened 24 Aug 1751 at Ladock, Cornwall, so he probably was born in 1751.  That assumes I have the correct William.  There are many William Flamanks.  The William who married Jane Davey (Davie) did so on 25 Aug 1772 in St. Enoder.  He died Mar 1822 in St. Enoder.  Jane Davey's parents were Joseph Davey who married Elizabeth COAD 13 Aug 1750 St Austell.

Hi

The Cornwall OPC has William Flamank, otp = Jane Davey, otp on 25 Aug 1772
Parish/Reg Dist : St Enoder
Witnesses: Antho. Cock and Michl. Lenn

His death is 19 March 1822 , St Enoder aged 70.

I notice that most of his children are born/baptised in St Enoder.

Here's the link:
http://www.kernowyon.co.uk/enoder/

There is this baptism: although not sure of POB.
William Flamank s/o William and Honor
4 Jan. 1753 Bodmin

Interestingly enough a Robert Flamank bc 1768 is living in Bodmin in 1841. His parents were also William and Honor/Honour.

The William who was baptized 4 Jan 1753 can't be the father of John because that William died s.p.  The two Williams who seem possible fathers of John are one baptized in Bodmin 1 Apr 1753 and another one baptized 24 Apr 1751 in Ladock.  Who William's father was is also undetermined as far.  Henry who died in 1760 is one candidate and another William is another candidate.  anyone who can sort out this puzzle would be appreciated.
