Does anybody know if the records purchased on rootsireland.ie are the same as the ones you send off for. Wondering because if they are I might buy a few credits, if not, I won't bother.
Just trying to cut out the snail mail  ;D

If the record says Civil Record it is a transcription of the General Register Office record
I personally would order the actual certificate rather than the pay for a transcription

If the record says Church Baptism or similar it is a transcription from another source
I would always search on familsearch.org as well to check that is not freely available elsewhere
Also all the griffith valuations are freely available online

bear in mind that although the rootsireland site is a greatsource of information they are transcriptions and prone to error - seeing an original if possible is always best
