My Prides are from Newington Bagpath, just a few miles from Horsley.

They begin with Charles Pride who married Ann Gambol 23.4.1699 at Newington Bagpath. They had a daughter Joyce as follows:

Joyce Pride c 9.2.1699/1700
br 29.8.1779 Ozleworth
= 5.3.1726 NB (banns) Richard Webb c 27.9.1688 Ozleworth br 4.11.1799 Ozleworth. My line continues from their son Charles Webb c 1.1.1726 at Ozleworth & br 30.4.1801 NB. Richard Webb (a clothier) & Joyce had 3 children all chr at NB.

Other children of Charles Pride & Ann:
Anne Pride c 11.9.1702 NB
Nathaniel Pride c 7.4.1705 NB
Jane Pride 24.2.1707/8 NB = John Niblett 31.1.1729 NB (had lots of children)
James Pride c 9.9.1711 NB
Hannah Pride c 2.1.1714 NB

My Prides are originally from Owlpen--Nathaniel Pride 1675,down to my g,g,
grandmother Tryphena Pride who was born in N,Bagpath 1857.

Any connection to yours.

Hello Criggy,

My name is Ross Tynan and I live at Newcastle, Australia and Charles Praid (Pride) 1670-1741 at Ozleworth and Ann Gambol 1705- ? at Bisley are my 8th great grandparents. I am descended from their son James Praid 1711-? from Newington Bagpath. I have been trying to trace the parents of Charles Praid and Ann Gambol without much luck. Do you have any information on them.
