Where did she die?
« on: Monday 11 August 14 21:59 BST (UK) »
Hi Chatters,

I'd love a second set of eyes to help identify where Isabella died, please. It looks like Inverness, but under that it appears to say Rothes.  :P ::) ???

Thanks in advance.

Looks like Inverness, what is the registration district? Rothes is her usual residence, the "usual" is crammed to one end of the line and she died possibly in Invernes. If you have downloaded the image from ScotlandsPeople it would be worth asking for a rescan to improve the quality using the link below the image on ScotlandsPeople.

I think it might say:
1 something indecipherable
Inverness us res
2 9 Burnside Street Rothes
The first will be where the death took place and the second her usual residence, i.e. home address. The first could be a hospital but it's very hard to read. And the loop at the top on the I of Inverness is running into the line above, confusing it further.
AYRSHIRE - Strachan, McCrae, Haddow, Haggerty, Neilson, Alexander
ABERDEENSHIRE (Cruden and Longside) - Fraser, Hay, Logan, Hutcheon or Hutchison, Sangster
YORKSHIRE (Worsbrough) - Green, Oxley, Firth, Cox, Rock
YORKSHIRE (Royston and Carlton) - Senior, Simpson, Roydhouse, Hattersley

Thanks Carol, carlineric & JM Strachan.  :) I thought maybe it was just me.

The record is District of Inverness, carlineric.

JMStrachan, the line above Inverness has 2 characters and then MAY say something like Leachkin Road.  ???

It looks like Burnside street to me too, Carol except I'm not sure of the first 2 characters on that line. ::)

It's very strange. I'll ask SP for a re-scan to see if it becomes clearer.

Goodness me! Could it be 1a Leachkin Road, Inverness?

Coincidentally, there's another post for that address!! On quick read, it looks like a home for the ill or hospital. I'll read the thread further to see if it sheds more light.

Hi Redmystic,

RootsChat sometimes struggles if there are characters and spaces in the names of titles. In you title you have a comma and spaces this maybe the problem on why it is not displaying correctly.

Regards

Sarah :)
