Help please with information on Glavins of Youghal.
« on: Saturday 08 June 13 00:44 BST (UK) »
Can anyone throw light on the Glavins of Youghal, please.  I have found 2 Honora Glavins born in 1844, both in Youghal.
My ggranmother was Hanoria Glavin.  She married James Scanlan about 1863 and died in 1907.  I gave traced a few Glavin families who would have lived close to where my ggrandfather lived, but there appears no link with my Hanoria.
So I am moving further out from where they lived.
I can't find a Marriage Cert, so that route I have exhausted.
If any of you would know anything of the Glavin family of Youghal, I would be so grateful.
Scanlon/Glavin/Murphy.

The name Glavin in County Cork was sometimes a kind of nickname (agnomen) for Donoghue so you might try looking for Donoghues.
