Title: Identification help - Eccles Lancs area

These photographs are two of three that I shall be loading to Rootschat on behalf of a friend to see if anyone recognises the people in the photograph. All of these were taken in the Eccles area of Lancashire circa 1940-1950.
Any help in identifying the people in the photographs would be appreciated.

The first photo is taken at Irwell
The second photo is of the Hockey Team possibly Soap Works Irlam.
