Hi, you found one!  I am the great-great-granddaughter of Thomas and Annie Fisher, great-granddaughter of Bernard, who moved to America in 1908.

Hi I can give you a bit more history I think:
Bernard (1888 - ?) had at least 8 siblings: John (1880-<1911), Peter (1876-1947), James (1877 - >1911); Thomas (1885-1941), Charles (1891-1922), Michael (1893-1935), Mary Anne (1878 - <1901) and Mary Agnes (Molly) 1892-1969.
Molly married James Breslin and these were my grandparents.
Thomas's Dad was James (1812-1873).
A number of them are buried in grave no 177 in Ardara cemetry.
There''s a bit of confusion record wise as Thomas is shown as married to an Ellen Boyle and there's an Ellen in the grave (died 1929) but all the "kids" are shown born to Anne and her mass card says she died in 1929 so I'mm currentlly  assuming that they are the same person.
Possibilities on the others include Ellen (anne's) Dad is Bryan Boyle (1803-1889) from Tullyclave near Ardara and
Isabella Ingles as James wife married back in 1845 in Scotland (quite a few Fishers in Scotland). This one I'm working on.
Any other information would be welcome
Regards,
     Shane

If you haven't already done so, a good way to make surname connections with other members is to enter your surname interests in the Surname Interests Table (SIT), and to check there whether others are researching these names.

This can be found at http://surname.rootschat.com/ , there is a link to it under "Your Tools" at the bottom of each Rootschat page.

The more people who enter their surnames, the more chance there will be of making a connection!

In the meantime, I will move this thread to the Donegal board for local knowledge. ;)

I think it's Rossbeg you're referring to, which is in the vicinity/parish of Ardara all right. However I can'r place your ancestors with mine at the moment

Hi Bernie, you may or may not get this reply. I am a Fisher. Peter Fisher, son of Peter Fisher. My grandfather was Michael Fisher, married to Elizabeth Fisher (nee Hand - I think).
