MCINTYRE/REILLY
« on: Saturday 01 March 14 15:29 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am looking for the parish of William McIntyre (b. ca. 1822) and his wife Catherine Reilly, b. ca. 1828, who are from somewhere in Donegal. They married ca. 1842 and had William Jr. in 1843 and Mary in 1847. They came to New York ca.1854 and settled in Chicago. The Donegal Ancestry Center tried, but came up empty. Thank you.

Michael

Michael,
The marriage of William and Catherine would give the parish. However Civil Registration of Protestant and civil marriages did not start until 1845 in Ireland and Catholic marriages until 1864. To find the church you would need to know the parish. Births might also give a location but, again, registration did not start until 1864.

Browne, Barrett -Co.Armagh
Neil, Smyth _Co. Antrim

Thanks for the reply.  That is my big problem-which parish.  The search goes on.  I know this is a tough one because of the time period.
