Am I doing something wrong with trying to access a NZ probate on Family Search?
I found the man I want, but the site takes me to a different person altogether.  I add the page number I want and still not the right person.
Also found this with another name I was looking for, just took me to a page with a totally different name but no forward or back arrows to search for any more papers.
Do I have to be a member of the site to view probates?

You often have to go the long way around and match up the Record Numbers.

A bit laborious but it works when the indexing is wrong.

In a bit more detail...

When it says 1276 images you need to guesstimate where your probate is.

Your LYALL probate is probate number 336.

FamilySearch has 1276 images which cover probates 305 to 426.

So 336 is about quarter of the way through the 1276 images, which is about image number 320.

"Image 320 of 1276 images" brings up the Will of Thomas Young FORMAN

Refer back to the Archway website and it says Thomas Young FORMAN is 0338/62 (probate 338 in the year of 1962)

I usually just say that one probate equals ten images so from probate 338 back to 336 is twenty images.

So image 320 minus 20 images equals image 300 so go and have a look at that one.... and repeat until you hit the right one.

Sort of like narrowing down a date on the BDM website.
