One last try to find out what happened to Alexander Livingston born about 1825 his mother was Barbara Livingston born 1793 Ba lvicar .Barbara was living with Duncan Livingston & Euphemia and family in 1841 at Easedale .I think Duncan would have been her brother ??in 1851 she is in Glasgow ( visitor ) 1852 she applies for poor relief that is when we realise she has a son... working out buy the age she gave him born 1825 .She states she does not know the where he is ??? Barbara dies 27/7/1879 poorhouse Ob an .Have tried searching for deaths while in Edinburgh but no luck can any one help

This is a long shot but I might have a connection to this.

From my side, I am connected to the MacNeils, two different ways, family tradition has it they were from Balvicar, however they may also be from Ardchonnel.

The connection is that a ?? Livingston signed the marriage certificate for Jane MacNeill and Duncan Campbell 1899 at Greenock. I can not make our the forename.
