Preston Monument Inscriptions
« on: Saturday 01 June 13 02:31 BST (UK) »
I am looking for possible MacKenzie burials in the Preston Kirk.  I have a Thomas MacKenzie of Preston Parish who died before 1841 he married Catherine Edington 04 April 1814.  I suspect that he was born 29 August 1793 to Alexander Mackenzie and Christian Knox.

Does any one have any monument inscritions in the Preston Cemetery?

Thanks

Scott

Thank you - that was a good site.  It didn't help me it my specific quest, so my assumptions were wrong, but there were several of interest that may prove important.  I will bookmark it for further study.

Thank you.

Hello Scott

I'm assuming that you are looking for Preston nr Duns - Borders FHS is recording Bunkle & Preston and haven't found Thomas Mackenzie - there is a tablestone for a Mackenzie family but none of the names you mention.

Thank you - I would be interested in finding the names on the MacKenzie Tablestone.  I suspect that it is Thomas, but I am not sure.  I know many were in the Preston & Bunkle parish.  I was hoping for a miracle.

Thank you.

Can someone please help, is the cemetery that is at Bonkle Church different to the one that is at Preston.  Is the one at Preston a new graveyard and how old is it.  I am looking for the Surname "Drummond" as the death certs state they died at Bunkle and Preston, even though they may not be buried there.  This was in the 1890's..

Thank you..
