It is not particularly uncommon to find 'tramps' or the like recorded in lodging houses. It usually happened when people stayed overnight on census night but left in the morning before they had chance to fill in the census form. It's not that they weren't willing or able to give details, they just were already gone.

It's a shame in a way because this could be someone's elusive family down on their luck and simply travelling from farm to farm for work  :(

Yes  it is a shame, as it so could be someone missing from a desperate search.

I once found one with Male and female down as names!!!!!!! that was sure helpful

The odd thing is, ages are shown  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

I think they were probably guessed by the enumerator, they are in 5 year blocks

They ages are on my original post as well - a family with three girls, ages but no names - odd
Even odder the person that filled out the census (anyone know what they are known as?) thinks that there is a profession called 'Tramp'
