There are two possible deaths under Llandrillo, neither of which seem to fit your timescale. One is the clerk of Corwen born 1740 and the other born 1792.I'm not convinced that either of these relate to the will. The date of the will is normally when it was proved, not when it was written or,more importantly, when the person died. The will of 1817 for Thomas Jones, gent,Corwen was written in 1814.There as a Corwen death in that year for someone born 1727.

Thanks for your time looking this up!

I think this will is the correct one finally as I've since been informed that in 1775 Llandrillo there is a birth of Thomas Jones son of Thomas and Margaret in Aberalwen - then in 1776 (corwen) Thomas Jones, of the same parents in Aberalwen too. The will in question also speaks about his son Thomas Jones, with the uncertainty that he'll live that long as he was away in the army at the time.

Many thanks again,
