Ernest Gordon Whittall 1904 - 1929
« on: Thursday 06 March 14 21:09 GMT (UK) »
Hello

My ancestor Ernest Gordon Whittall was born in Dolgelly in 1904. He married Matilda Ansell in Birmingham North in 1925 and died in 1929 in Birmingham North.

Could someone please find out whom were the parents of Ernest Gordon Whittall?

my thanks

You will have to look for him on the 1911 census - info from that census is not allowed to be posted here due to copyright issues.  He is listed on the free index so you can try the following.  However - if he is not with parents - you will need to buy a copy of his birth cert

USING THE FREE 1911 INDEX TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT HOUSEHOLD

http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx

Once you find a possible match - make a note of the county and district in which the person was living

Return to the index and in PERSONAL DETAILS - just put the surname of the family - nothing else

In LOCATION - Select the county and below it - type in the district

In OTHER MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD - show the full name of the person you have found on the index

Click SEARCH

The 1911 census is strictly pay per view so you will have to buy credits to view the full entry - the above instructions will only help to possibly show others of the same surname in the same household

You can check  birthplaces for free using GRU

Got hold of his birth certificate today

His father is not listed, Ernest was illegitimate and got the surname Whittall from his mother, Margaret Ann Whittall, a parlourmaid whom lives at 25 Beach Road Fairbourne Llangelynin.

I think the Richard Whittall he is living with in 1911 is his grandfather, but I am not sure
