complete Waverley Cemetery Burial Records
« on: Monday 07 January 08 06:28 GMT (UK) »
Is it possible someone has access to the burial records of Waverley Cemetery and could do a lookup please?

Gideon Vecsey died in 1914 in Waverley and his wife Mary in 1913.  The most likely cemetery for their burial would be Waverley and it would be good to know for sure.

Hi

I had a look on the Waverley & South Head  Cemeteries disk and sorry to say no luck, however  the disk only records headstone details

Regards

Cass

Hi Cass, very kind of you to have a look.  As far as I know Gideon & Mary had only one child who moved to Gosford after the death of his parents so perhaps did not have the means to pay for a headstone.

Many thanks for looking,

Hi

Did you email the address on the actual Waverley Cemetery home page listed on the link I gave you?  The information will be in the burial registers if they were buried in that particular cemetery.

Cheers

Sorry to take so long to reply Cando, thanks for following it up.

I did try the Cemetery and they quoted a fee of $15 to do a look up so since I was not sure if Gideon was actually buried there and I had found his death listed on the NSW BDM I decided to send for a  $16 transcript which luckily gave heaps of information including his burial at Waverely and was worth the expense in this case.
Many thanks
Shadrach

Gosh $15 just to do a lookup is a bit steep.  Glad you had a good outcome with your transcription.
