ermmmmmmm not too sure Liz. I was kind of hoping that there might be someone related to one of my GGGD or his kids and we could marry up our "trees". A lazy way of expanding our lines and seeing where they went I guess. But......I might have to sign up to one of the several "ancestral" websites and just sit down one rainy day and trawl. What do you suggest?  Is there one site better than t'other??

Thanks

Might take more than one rainy day! If you are serious about researching beyond the obvious first few clicks of a mouse. And beware on that too - without wider research sometimes what a computer deems to be a "match" may indeed be only a person with the same name and same year of birth, and that does not guarantee it is the right one!

At the end of the day nothing beats doing your own research , piecing together what you can find, confirming it from different angles etc. No fun just copying whay someone else says - and anyway it would need checking out, people "claim" some weird things sometimes without any evidence!

as to which commercial site - therre have been numerous discussions on Rootschat about that. Depends what you want. Might be best to look out for some of their free introductory sessions and see who you like.

And if you get stuck - there will always be someone on Rootschat who enjoys researching who will have a look around for you!
