hi
will his death cert tell me how he died ..as mum would never talk about him ..
until she pass away 5 years ago ..I was for bidden to find out ..
I now have date of death  and where ..

The death cert records the cause of death. The link below gives more info on what should be on the death cert -

If you wish to purchase the cert then use GRO which is the cheapest option to buy certs(£9.25)

You can look up the index information on www.freebmd.org.uk  as you need the quarter, year, district, volume and page to order the certificate from the GRO. Let us know if you need help with the lookup.

hi thank you all for the info ..just ordered the cert..be here after the 4 Aug..
seem gf was in prison at some time before his death.. Reading I believe  hence mum not talking about him.. the family have some dark history which I love ..

hello thanks for all the help..
got death cert and Marriage one too.
but now having hiccup with birth date..

1875..1877 not sure
 found him in the census 1911 but age wrong  !!!!
he was a brick maker..
cant get my head around these records help please

So you know his father's name too and occupation.  Would you like to share those with us so that we might be able to find John with his parents on the census.  :)

father was John Scrivener .. deceased..
they live at    LITTLE HUNGERFORD BERKSHIRE

date of wedding 1912
not sure if the age is right as cant read it well looks like age 33
witness were
