I am a direct decendent of John Taylor (1802 - 1868), born in Whissonsett, brother of Peter (hanged Norwich1836) and James.  Their father was Thomas Taylor (1759 - 1841) a shoemaker of Whissonsett and I have the line back further and quite a lot of lateral detail.  I think that the Robert Taylor line is separate, or at least I have found no connection.

The biggest mystery over the years for me is that John had a son James (who was recorded as 8 months old in the 1840 census) and James later has added the middle name Brockwell.  Brockwell continues then to be a family given name but there is no indication where this name came from.

Has anybody any information on this???
