thinking on it Im sure  that the mother of ann and mary   mother died in a workhouse  I see this from  the family reunited page years ago should have kept it or jotted it all down

Was that in Scotland ? as I said you would be better to get the marriage certificate for her daughter and that would let you know if they were still living

just found about mary cartmill she died 1 .11.1894 place of death the city poor house age 80

hi im trying to find out about mary marshall nee cartmill    I know she was born in Ireland  and they came to Scotland in the 1840,50, she married a William marshall in Ireland  and had 2 daughter s  ann  my desendant and mary   ,I cant find much but  the mother mary  marshall died in the city poor house aged 80 in 1st 11 1894  the poor house was in st rollox county of Lanarkshire   I got this bit years ago from Genes Reunited   this is all I have  would I be able to look at the records somehow to find out where mary was born  and what happened in her life  for her to be there I know her daughter died in the 1870,s  (ann) as she married a Robert stevenson
