     Hi,
There was a Dominic Michael Stringer born 14 Apr 1919 at Tower Hamlets.    He died at Tower Hamlets in 1986.      And there was a Dominic Stringer, aged 26, probably the same person, who arrived at Liverpool from Bombay on 10 Jul 1945.    He was an Engineer.     The ship was the "Monarch of Bermuda".

But there was also a Michael Stringer on the "Strathnaver" departing London 15 Mar 1960 to Melbourne.       His family were with him; the ships lists gives this -

Michael Stringer born 15 Jul 1925
              Kathleen           born 15 Jul 1925
              George             born 26 Aug 1956
              Dominic             born 22 Sep 1958

It says they had been living at Wellends, Pilton.

Hi Doddsie,

Thanks for this - absolutely fascinating!  The first entry is my Father in law who died in Tower Hamlets, and he returned from the war on Empress of Bermuda.

The second item about the Stringer family departing on Strathnaver for Melbourne is very curious.  It is the first time I have come across both names in the same family but as far as I am aware they are no relation to me at ll!  Some investigation into this needed I think
Thank you!!!!!

p.s.  Do not suppose it says where Michael ws born????  TY
