Galbraith/Parlane in (and around) Kippen
« on: Tuesday 06 March 12 14:59 GMT (UK) »
Posting this on belhalf of another Rootschatter who is having a few wee issues over logging-on .......

The family he is searching for is as follows:

James Galbraith (born 1776) married Helen Parlane (born 1791).
Their date of marriage: 1809
6 (known) children:
Walter born 1814
Margaret born 1816
James born 1818
Jane/Jean born 1821 (died 1905 Iowa, USA)
John born 1823 (died 1915)
Helen born 1826 (died 1891)

It has been documented that a John Galbraith of Kippen was a Covenanter - but no connection between him and the above family has been established.

Any/all infomation regarding these Galbraiths/Parlanes gratefully received!  :)

Anne

Thanks snooki,

I have no personal knowledge about the family, so I'll pass on the information.

Thank you!

Anne

I have been researching the Norval tree which connects  through Helen Galbraith born 1826 married an Archibald Norval. Haven't got back beyond Helen Parlane at all and have James Galbraiths parents down as being a Walter Galbraith and Margaret. The tree is available for public access on Ancestry.
