Maybe a long shot, but if Catherine died and was buried in Stirling, Stirling Archives may have record of the burial. I visited the Archives last summer and some of the burial records had been transcribed on to a computer database which helped with searching - I believe a quick specific search can be obtained at no charge. A couple of the original records I was interested in recorded a very brief description of cause of death (eg 'fever', 'old age').

Sandy, yes, its certainly worth investigating, will make contact with Stirling Archives.
Thanks very much for this, not something I had not thought of.Always have found it difficult to research in Scotland.Had long given up on this one, know absolutely nothing about her, apart from in born England.
