Thomas Limbry/Limbery/Lymbery and Mary Clark?
« on: Friday 08 November 13 11:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi!
Can anyone help with the following?
I have a Thomas Limbry baptised on September 11th 1681 at Langford, Bedford, son of John and Elizabeth Limbry. No other children mentioned for John and Elizabeth and cant find a marriage either.
A few trees on Ancestry have John Limbry being born around 1650 son of a Gregory Lymbery born Ireland?
Thomas Limbry born 1681 apparently married a Mary Clark(?) and had the following issue: Thomas April 8th 1708, Mary June 23rd 1709, Ann February 4th 1710, Dutton July 27th 1712, Ann March 6th 1714, William 1716 and John July 1st 1723, all baptised at Langford.
The name of Dutton Limbry also appears again in William Limbrys issue. As of yet cant find any info on Mary Clark. I feel the surname Dutton is connected to the Limbry family but as yet cannot make the connection.
Any help much appreciated!! :)

BLARS have a will of John Limbery ref 1713/14-35 yeoman of Langford. I'd start with that.

I always take online trees with copious helpings of salt

Hi David,
Thanks for that. I always try to research any family history myself, just to confirm anything what other people have supplied! Can you tell me please what BLARS is and would I be able to read the will of John Limbrey?
Thanks, Andrew

Bedford & Luton Archives and Records Service, at Bedford

They'll send you a copy of it by mail. You should be able to read it.

You could also try the various spellings in a search of their online catalogue at http://apps.bedscc.gov.uk/bedsccis3/search.aspx  An entry under Limbrey mentions the will
