Sarah Ann Harvey b.1853/4 Leigh baptism
« on: Tuesday 25 March 14 21:36 GMT (UK) »
Hi. I have my 2x great grandmother's birth as 1853 Leigh to Stephen and Selina (nee Pratt) Harvey from census records. I can't find her baptism. It is possibly non-conformist, as her mother was baptised as a non-conformist. Also can't find her anywhere on the 1871 census. She does marry my 2x great grandfather, David Amey, who was born in st pancras the following year, but she marries him in Leigh, where she was born.

I can't find her father, Stephen Harvey's baptism either, other than a pallot's record, which says 1818 to William and Ann Harvey.

Also looking for her son, my great grandfather, Cecil Edwin Amey b.1885 West Ham. Can't find his baptism either. Have his census return records and marriage to daisy Emma hicks in 1911 in barking.

Will probably have to send off for their birth certificates, but was trying to avoid this as already have subs to SEAX and an ancestry site and was hoping to find them through those, if someone can point me in the right dietction?
Thanks :-)

Maybe they weren't baptised at all.

How old was she when she got married?

24 years old. Yes, I suppose that's possible.

Doesn't quite add up does it, she should still be a teenager if she married in 1872  :)

Just rechecked my records. She was married in 1873 in Leigh, aged 20.
Yes that 1871 sounds right. Thanks. I'll check that out :-)

Checked an old street names site for Brunswick place ... There was one in st pancras, which is where her husband was from. I always wondered how they met  although her husbands family were from Leigh originally. Was it definitely kent?
