Looking for information about Lydia Hall born c 1853 Cranham, Essex, to Robert Hall and Mary Ann Carson. She married a Edward Robert Garrod I believe in 1875 but then is apparently the "wife" of one Henry Greenfield in 1891 in Salford? Can't find a divorce from Mr Garrod or a marriage to Henry Greenfield?
Confused  ???

Divorce was only for the rich in those days - more than likely they were just living together

Have you looked for Edward?

Yes he lived on in Hornchurch, Essex with their son.

Found her baptism in Cranham: May 15th 1853 to the parents you mention. Didn't find her marriage in 1875 though.
Jamiesons, Martins and McGonigals of Coleraine, Londonderry
and
Cullens, Grahams and Challenors of Dublin county and city.

Edward is now Robert, and is at
RG 12 1373  13  20
Described as married, no wife there, son Ernest is there.
