Next question- just testing  ;)  do you have him in earlier censuses - especially with his father?
I thought his father may be Middleton but obviously not!

Thomas Sedman b. c1831
Birthplace is Harwood Dale on 1861 census - and he is aged 34 there
Birthplace is Burniston on 1871 census.
Birthplace is Oscar on 1881 census
Birthplace is Hawsker on 1891 census (correct!!)

1852 June quarter, married Mary Ann Smith in Scarborough volume 9d page 493 ????
1860 November 24th, married Elizabeth Holgate in Scarborough, volume 9d page 629
1861 census: living at the Talbot Hotel, Queen Street, Scarborough, Yorks. (RG9/3617 Folio: 81 Page: 27)
1871 census: living at 5 Fish Yard, St. Thomas Street, Scarborough (RG10/4816  Folio: 111 Page: 44) Mary Jane Holgate sister-in-law aged 23 unmarried,  born Thornton, Yorkshire is staying with them; ** NOTE All of this area has been pulled down.
1875 living at 6 Fish Yard, St. Thomas Street, Scarborough, Yorks.; ** NOTE All of this area has been pulled down.
1881 census: living at 6 Fish Yard, St. Thomas Street, Scarborough, Yorks. (RG11/4803 Folio: 104 Page: 26) ** NOTE All of this area has been pulled down.
1891 census: living at 6 Fish Yard, St. Thomas Street, Scarborough, Yorks. (RG12/3965 Folio: 35, Page: 65) Robert Sedman (brother) is staying with them too. ** NOTE All of this area has been pulled down.
1893 Friday, September 1st - The Scarborough Post.
"UNLICENSED LANDAUS. -  Thomas Sedman, Fish-yard was summoned for having allowed landau No.141 to stand for him on the stand on Queen's Parade, without having obtained a licence for the same on 22nd. inst. Fined 5s & costs."
1898 died living at 6 Fish Yard, St. Thomas Street, Scarborough, North Yorks. ** NOTE All of this area has been pulled down.
