WWW.Ancestry.co.uk- user query!
« on: Tuesday 11 February 14 23:27 GMT (UK) »
In Bucks board as it relates to a Bucks tree.

So.. Does anyone know who "chezkev" is. He has a very detailed tree on Ancestry but doesnt respond to messages. I am at present assuming this is because the account is old an no longer accessed rather than he is ignoring me.

The tree he has researched is one of three that accurately portray the family i am interested in. I'd love to know who he is!!

Mike

What tree names is this Mike? Also is it a public or a private tree. I'm assuming its to do with Wrights of Astwood. According to Ancestry's user directory 'chezkev' hasn't added any research interests or public contributions.  He's been a member since 2008 & signed in last week.

Its a very confusing tree! Cheskev has accurately found and plotted the Wright family right back to Charles and Ruth, he has everything right, including my line. His tree is Wright/purkiss and looking at the tree it seems he is following the John/Anne Wilding line.

There are only two other trees this accurate that i can find, mine, my uncles and this guy!

I can only assume he is ignoring messages!!

Mike

its all the more frustrating that whoever it is clearly knows what they are doing. there are a couple of minor errors but we are both chasing the same ancestry.

I am trying to get a few hundred years further  back but its unbelievably complex so another researcher on board would have been great.

I can only assume he is ignoring messages!!

When someone's subscription to some genealogy sites expire their user account remains in existence along with any info they have uploaded, as under the T&Cs all the info and content they have uploaded becomes the property of the genealogy company. The more content a company has the more attractive it is to potential new customers.

Of course what has happened to the original user who uploaded the info is another matter; they may have changed email address or died, but the genealogy company is not to know this....

Hi

The non-reply may be simply that he has not spotted the ridiculously small "incoming message" notification at the top of the Ancestry screen(s).

Nothing more sinister than that.

Cheers.
