William Small/William Smith Small
« on: Tuesday 29 July 14 06:42 BST (UK) »
I am trying to ascertain if the William Small that was before the courts in Buckinghamshire in 1817 was the same William Smith Small before the courts and convicted in 1822.  In 1817 he was with George Small and they were from Bledlow.  I am a descendant of George Small who was convicted and transported to Australia in 1824. Another clue is that George's mother may have been Mary Small (she was in the court, her name was on the reverse side of his record).

Would be grateful for any help.

It would be worth looking at the British Newspaper Archive, they may have newspapers that cover that area and if so those usually cover court cases - you can use the search facility to look for their names.
