As I said before - use FreeBMD! ;D

Using surname = Beaulieu
Forename = Peter
Dates+ Mar (qtr) 1945 to Dec (qtr) 1945
and searching for marriages

Results in one marriage!

Marriages Dec 1945
Beaulieu    Peter L C    Bush    Eastbourne    2b   191

Clicking on the page number (191) gives:
Beaulieu    Peter L C    Bush    Eastbourne    2b   191
Bush    Joan D            Beauliou    Eastbourne    2b   191

Durrant    George A    Harmes    Eastbourne    2b   191
Harmes    Eileen M    Durrant    Eastbourne    2b   191

Try entering only the data I typed!
Do not select a district or a county!

Ahhhhhhhhhh - at last

Thanks, think have the hang of it now - and Derek . J. married Stella M.V. Mann in 1950 at Ealing ( though FindMyPast seem to think he married a certain Miss Forrest ?).

Now the really sticky one - Sheila.M. and Audrey.A. -how ( since they are, or would be my age ) do I find if they are still alive, as on their maternal side, I can now take them back - thru Norfolk and Durham to their roots in the 1700's in Devon, a somewhat long, but interesting trip.

Uhm, FreeBMD gives our Audrey's D of B as Sept 1935, - she is down as a Canadian citizen, with their Passport, and Sailing from France ? Is there another way of checking, do you think, as am aware that France had quite a few 'Beaulieu's themselves. Maybe the London address could be one of the Brothers, Peter appears on London 1959 Electoral roll ( but don't have 'Ancestors').

Not quite right, John!

FreeBMD has Audrey's birth as Registered in the September quarter, 1935!

So she may have been born in July, August or September - or even June, as you had 6 weeks to register a birth!

And sailing from Southampton.
