Blairgowrie / Caputh / Forneth - Heron Family

I am visiting Stirling week commencing 17/3 on business and intend to take the opportunity to research Blairgowrie.

My great x4 maternal grandparents were born and raised in/around Blairgowrie pre 1813 onwards.

Can anyone advise me of any local family research groups in the area.

Does anybody have any local knowledge who may be able to assist.

My family are;

James Her(r)on 10/9/1813 Blairgowrie - Died 17/3/1902 " Burnside" Forneth

His wife ; Janet Reid 27/7/1812 Kinlaven - Died 18/2/1896 "Burnside" Forneth

Children

James Heron 30/6/43 Blairgowrie - 17/11/1921 Pollockshaw Glasgow

James married Janet Buchannan in 1870 at Blair Drummond - dont know church.

Helen heron - 1846-1925 lived B Blairgowrie Lived Caputh and Died Clunie Forneth

John Heron - 1848 - 1895 B Blairgowrie D Baldernoch Clunie

The men were all farmers.

Id like to visit local cemetery in use at the time plus identify "Burnside" which was/is possibly a farm/croft.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Ill be staying in Stirling so fairly local.
One record mentions Milton of Clunie and I believe there is still a farm there.

Type Forneth in the gazetteer search box in the category box select Scotland os maps in the map group select os 25 in 1855-1882

It will probably take approx. 11/2 to 2hrs traveling from Stirling.

There are church yards at Caputh, Clunie, Blairgowrie, Kinclaven.

I have the MI books for the area and will have a look for you later today or tomorrow depending on what OH has planned for me

If you go to www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and look at the wills and testaments type the name "Heron" no forename and search Perth sheriff court you will find the family you are looking for I believe there are 6 entries for the "Heron" family all around Forneth and Milton of Clunie

Thanks so much  Apologies for late reply  Im actually in Stirling at present and travelling to Blairgowrie to stay overnight Friday...looking forward to it!!  Id like to identify where exactly they died so will check maps again!
