Jones in Cilycwm

I would welcome any information regarding my great grandfather, Daniel Jones (born Cilycwm abt 1811 - father also Daniel Jones). He was married once (possibly to Mary?) before marrying Esther Edwards (born Cilycwm abt 1821 - her father was William Edwards b 1771 & her mother was Mary b 1776) in Llandingat Church in 1849.
It also appears that the marriage banns for Daniel & Esther were first called in Jan 1844 five years before their marriage!!!

Daniel & Esther are traceable from the time of their marriage in the censuses of 1851, 61, 71, 81 and 1891 (they both died in 1892) at addresses in and around LLandovery but I am anxious to trace his birth, parents and details of his first marriage.

Does anyone have Daniel Jones & Mary or Daniel Jones & Esther in their family trees?

can't see Daniel senior in 1841, but Thomas is on the same farm, with his son Daniel who accounts for the 10 year old in 1851

I think you could be on the right tracK here.  This is Daniel in 1851 and at the time of the marriage in 1849 he was living at Colbrook in Telych Hamlet just NE of Llandovery.

Hi Crud,  My G/Grandfather  was Daniel Jones he married Mary Thomas on 24th Dec 1881, both aged 22 at the time of marriage. Daniel was a farm labourer, father John Jones ( farmer ) residence at the time of marriage Pen-Y-Bank. Ann Thomas, residence ysgivborfach,Llandefeilog, father Thomas Thomas ( butcher ) deceased. They were married at the Tabernacle Chapel ( Baptist )   Witnesses William Gravell and Mary Jones. Maybe we are related.

If this is the same strand of Joneses it is not the same Daniel as by 1871 this particular Daniel was elderly and living in Llandovery. He did, however, have a son named John b 1843 and he in his turn may well be the John in your family. The only info I have on him is here:  Name: John Jones
