Mary Jane Gates - Halifax marriage, next steps?

Hi All

I have recently received a certified copy of the entry for my GGGrandparents marriage as follows

Thomas HILL married Mary Jane GATES, 13/01/1868, HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA.

As this is a copy of the full page, it is almost impossible to read the witnesses names (i've tried enlarging but no use). Does anyone know if NSARM provide copies of the certificates or is this the best I will get.

Also, I now know Mary was 25 when she married so how would I find her birth registration from c1843.

All advice greatly appreciated

oh, I found the record here:

Its a bit time consuming sometimes going through page by page, but if you know the dates, you can find things pretty easy.

Thank you for that info, I will certainly have a look at it.

Unfortunately, life has got in the way of my research over the last few years but I am planning on getting back to it soon, so this will give me a good starting point.
