Irene Edna Ball family search

Hello,

I would appreciate any assistance with my search for Irene Edna Ball.
She was born on Oct 19 1906 in Wetaskiwin, Saskatchewan to Edward Dahl  & Amanda Erickson.
Irene passed away on Jan 24 1983 in Vancouver. The information from her death certificate indicates, that her parents Edward & Amanda were born in Canada. From the Saskatchewan & Manitoba census records I have searched, i found an Edward & Amanda Dahl born in the united states. Another census records indicates Europe, all without a child named Irene.
 Edna's marriage status on her death record indicates that she was divorced from Harry John Ball. From my research I found there to be three Harry Ball's (no pun intended) to be living in Vancouver. I have managed to rule them all out. Edna's death certificate also indicates that her sister was Delma or Wilma Amelia Elliot as the informant living in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. I do not believe that Edna is still living.
 I did however found a "Harry J Ball" living in Vancouver 1957 with a Mrs. Lee Ball?

Irene Edna was born in Alberta not Saskatchewan.

Page 118 and 119 talks about Delma and husband Roy Elliott

On the 1921 census for the Battle River District there is an Edna Dahl, born 1907 Alberta, living as the adopted daughter of Oscar and Rella (? ) Lindgren.

Added:
The 1916 census for Battle River shows Oscar and Isabella (Bella) Lindgren with the same natural children as the 1921 census but Edna is not living with them.

1906 census for Wetaskiwin, Alberta shows Edward Dahl, 26, b. Minn. USA with wife Amanda, 20, not sure where her place of birth is and what looks like Erva but is probably your Edna age 1 born Alberta.

Looking back at the 1906 census I think Edward was born in Minn. and not Maine as I had originally entered.  I've changed the entry to read Minn.

For the 1911 census, Archives Canada and Ancestry have the surname transcribed as Lahl.  Automated Genealogy got it right as shown here

On the same page of the 1921 census that shows Edna as the adopted daughter of the Lindgren family you have Frank Stickney, 52, b. USA with wife Ida, 48, with adopted children
Clifford Dahl, 11, b. AB, and Delma 9, b. AB, both parents born USA of Norwegian heritage.
That accounts for the Stickney name in the Our Roots history book for Delma

Is this Edward arriving 1898 with Thomas Dahl and family.  They are headed for Wetaskiwin.

41, married but no wife in household.  B. USA, parents born Norway.  Immigration 1898, Naturalized 1903.  occupation - agent Trunk yard

Hello Cosmac,

Thank you very much for posting the helpful 1916 census link for me. All these facts lead me to believe that the Dahl's, Erickson's and the Lindgrens were all of Swedish descent travelling via the United States to the Canadian prairies, all very acquainted with each other I'm sure. These pieces fit my puzzle.
 Cosmac, in my original post I mentioned Irene Edna Dahl (born in Westaskiwin) being married to
Harry J Ball. I cannot seem to find a marriage record in the province of BC. I'm thinking they met and married in Alberta. I have searched ancestry & family search for Harry J Ball without success.
 Could you pls give me some assistance with this search?
