    Does sks know if Gainsborough had a local paper in 1945, what was is name and did it carry report on weddings also was it till going in 1950 looking for report on flooding in gainborough in the 1950s Thank you Sandy

Either select 'Lincolnshire Gainsborough Lib' from the drop-down list of library names or else type Gainsborough into the 'Town/county' box.

From what I can see none of the local Gainsborough papers are currently available via the British Newspapers 1710-1953 site.

I think most local papers carried wedding reports in those days. And in much greater detail than nowadays. Though it was dependent on the bride and groom sending in the report to the paper in the first place - reporters didn't attend every single wedding and take details.  :)
