Hi everyone,

This is a very badly damaged photo of my wife's mother Joan and her twin brother William (Billy) who were born on 5th January 1924. They were the children of Maud Alice Haughton & William C A Bond of Ilford or Romford, Essex. Sadly, both passed away some years ago.

Would it be possible to restore this photo and imagine what Billy might be wearing? Would they still have been dressing boys in dresses in the 1920's? The tops look similar.

My wife and I would be grateful for anything that can be done to restore this photo.

Wow Carol!  They are fantastic, thank you so much.  My knowledge of digital photography is very limited and it was trial and error just getting the original under 500 KB so that I could send it, so you can imagine our delight with these results.

Had fun with this one ... I see the little one on the left has the boat,  but looks more girlish ... which is which ?????????????????

It's definitely Joan on the left with the boat but it was Billy who later join the Navy! ::)

Brilliant. Many thanks for a lovely Christmas present! :) I did wonder if they were wearing night dresses or maybe they were summer dresses that toddlers wore in those days whether they were boy or girl.
