*COMPLETED* Information about Joseph Hames /Ann Johnson
« on: Wednesday 05 June 13 13:19 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information on the parents of Harriet Hames she was born in Leicester bap in St Margarets 23 May 1798 who's parents were Joseph Hames and Ann Johnson who married in 5 Nov 1793 All Saints,Loughborough.

Could someone look to see if either father is mentioned on their marriage please ::) although I don't think their names will be on it, so any idea how I could make a connection would be great.

Looks like the Joseph/Ann Hames started married life in St Margarets Leicester but then moved to Birstall as several of their children married there including Harriet (twice)

From there I got side tracked and went on a 'research trip' with Francis Hames  a local architect who is responsible for Leicester Town Hall, fountain and square...although I have not made any connection

As far as I can see there are  Hames in the Abbey Park area of Leicester including Joseph but I don't think they are likely candidates one in St. Martin, Leicester parents Wm/Dorothy and one in All Saints Leicester parents Joseph/Sarah both bap early/mid 1780s so too young to marry in 1793.

As Joseph and Ann married in Loughborough I am 'assuming' that is likely were she was born/raised

Thanks Diddy that would be great.
I have tried to put all the information I can think of.

I 'think' Joseph Hames died c1818 if so he was a Hosiery manufacturer and I am wondering if Joseph and Sarah who were baptising children in Leicester in the 1780 could be the same Joseph who later married Ann Johnson in Loughboro 1793

may not be related, but in the docs you attached is mentioned the name  Paget Cape - Paget is very much a L'boro family who owned Nanpantan Hall. I knew the last living Paget there.

Looks like I am going to be doing another little  'research trip' on  Paget Cape............... certainly if that Ann is the one I think she is...first need to prove that

Ummmmmmmmm now you have me wondering if I have written it down wrong.... could it be Joseph Hames lived in Leicester and Ann Johnson in Loughboro', so banns were read in his parish? Or like I said could it be me writing Loughboro' which should be Leicester  ???

don't worry - the PRs are indexed so a quick check won't harm!
