Hi there,
I'm not sure this will help you much but I have Langford ancestors, as follows

Richard Langford b. 1826 (Kington, Herefordshire?) marries Eleanor ? in 1861 at Glascwm, children Elizabeth, Hebrew, Dansey and Lewis.
I think Richard's parents were Richard and Elizabeth ? - that is all the detail I have.  It looks like there might be some connection to your Langford ancestors, as Kington and Knighton are not that far apart in distance are they?
I'll see if I can find some ancestors earlier than the 2 Richards and let you know
Cheers
Helen

Hi, I've got Langfords in my tree as well. While searching for them in Withington, Herefordshire I found a family headed by Mary in 1881 whose husband (deceased) was Thomas born in Knighton abt 1825. Don't know their m. or d. years yet, I've been up a different branch!
Do you know yet if your John and Ann had children?
If you find a Thomas in the mix, please let me know and we'll swop notes.

Thanks for your replies since i posted on this forum i have found that the couple i was looking for were William Langford c1768 married to Anne Baylis (not John and Ann) and the came from Knighton Radnorshire. I have since found out that there were a few Langfords from that area. The conection from William and Ann is their son Samuel  who was lock keeper at Over lock in Gloucester and through out his life kept swapping his surname from Langford too Baylis as you can imagine this has cost me no end of problems. Im always on the look out for family connections.  Im not sure about the Surrey/London connection have not traced anyone to those parts but you never know.
many thanks
Wynyards

Hi!

I am looking for information on the lineage of John Alfred Langford, born on October 20, 1815 at Knighton, Radnorshire, Wales. He married Harriett Bates on August 31 1839, and they sailed on the Aurora bound for Petone, New Zealand the next month. His parents were Richard and Mary (nee Price).
